Digital Learning Week

Currently, from 2 to 5 September 2025, the Digital Learning Week is taking place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. As one of UNESCO’s flagship annual events, the initiative is dedicated to discussing the impact of advances in artificial intelligence on the future of education.

The 2025 edition is held under the theme: “AI and the Future of Education: Disruptions, Dilemmas and Directions.” Forums within the program critically assess the role of artificial intelligence from diverse perspectives and methodologies, providing a platform that brings together policymakers, education leaders, teachers, researchers, and information technology experts to exchange views and foster cooperation.

Experts speaking at the event have emphasized the importance of ensuring that artificial intelligence and other digital technologies are used in education ethically, fairly, and inclusively. They also highlighted the need for global strategies to ensure these technologies benefit not only developed nations but also developing countries.

The UNESCO Chair in Comparative Study of World Religions at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan is represented at the Digital Learning Week by Professors Mahfuza Alimova, Mohira Abdullayeva, and Laziza Alidjanova. By participating in discussions on the effective integration of emerging technologies – particularly artificial intelligence – into education, they are gaining valuable insights into how to design teaching and learning processes that are modern, interactive, and learner-centered.
