Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy Commemorates International Day of the Girl with a Spiritual and Educational Event

Every year, on October 11, International Day of the Girl is celebrated as designated by the General Assembly of the United Nations. This date is marked to draw the world's attention to the challenges girls face and promote their empowerment.

In line with this goal, today, Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy organized a spiritual and educational event with the theme "Our Girls - Our Pride!" The event was organized in collaboration with the Women and Girls Department of the Academy and the Women and Girls Council. The event featured speeches from various notable figures, including a member of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a member of the Uzbek Writers' Union, poetess Farida Afroz, Head of the Department of work with woman at Committee of religious affairs Republic of Uzbekistan, Farida Abdurakhimova, the holder of the Order of “Friendship”, the member of the Uzbek Writers' Union, the poetess Sayyora To'ychiyeva, the leader of the “Educated Women” movement, doctor of pedagogy, Professor Oynisa Musurmonova made speeches.

The festive event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Rector of the Academy, Uygun Gafurov. In his congratulatory remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of nurturing the future generations of girls with knowledge and virtue, and the duty of society to provide them with opportunities for growth and development.

The event also included discussions about the significance and content of this holiday, as well as the role of women and girls in society and the opportunities available to them.

On October 11, in honor of International Girls' Day, a group of students and girls at the Uzbekistan International Islamic Academy were recognized for their significant contributions. During the ceremony, students paid tribute to revered women, girls full of grace, and, of course, loving mothers. The event featured the best performances dedicated to them, songs, traditional and modern dances, and performances that reflected the national and contemporary spirit.
