The classes to improve political knowledge is continuing

Today in the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Department of “International Relations and Social Sciences” of the Faculty of Islamic Economy and International Relations organized the next political education training course for professor teachers of the Academy.

As usual, the session began with a digest of the main socio-political events that took place in Uzbekistan and the world.

This evening's training was devoted to current environmental problems in Central Asia, including the problem of water shortage in the region, the factors causing it, scientific-innovative, political-economic ways to solve these problems, the importance of interstate relations, the current situation and future priorities.

The rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan Uygun Gafurov, vice-rectors, deans of the faculty, professors and teachers and employees took part in it.

It was noted at the event that the problem of water shortage in Central Asia has become acute and inevitable and will continue to deepen. According to experts' calculations, the need for water resources will triple by 2040 in some regions of Central Asia. Over time, the economic damage can reach 11% of the gross regional product. In particular, the impact of the Koshtepa canal, which is being dug in neighboring Afghanistan, which has been the cause of various debates by the regional public in recent times, on the agricultural sector in Central Asia, the ecological situation, and the shortage of ecological and water resources in Uzbekistan. the information about the implementation of the policy on elimination aroused great interest among the participants.
